Campaign finance reform revisted

Chellie Pingree, President and CEO of Common Cause, was the second speaker in the Sidore Lecture Series on October 24, 2006. The next Plymouth State Univeristy’s Sidore Lecture Series presentation is Wednesday November 15, 2006 at 7 p.m. when Chuck Collins from the Institute for Policy Studies speaks on Economic Inequality as a Threat to a Democracy.

Plymouth State University welcomes Vermont State Poet, Grace Paley to campus on Sunday October 15, 2006 at 3 p.m. in the Silver Center for the Arts.

Paley, the first writer in the Eagle Pond Authors Series, describes herself as a “somewhat combative pacifist and cooperative anarchist” and has long been involved in peace activisim and feminist causes.

Art Hazelwood: Hubris Corpulentus
Lamson Library October 18 – December 16, 2006

Opening Reception October 18, 4 – 6 p.m.

Art Hazelwood is a San Francisco painter and printmaker. He maintains that artists with integrity must occupy a prominent role in society and not remain as outsiders. This controversial series of satirical prints, Hubris Corpulentus, exhibit the artist’s own opposition to the war in Iraq.
